Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Fast Lane Drive is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-off task, and we work to improve the site as we build and change it.

Standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the standard most widely referenced by accessibility law in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

We have not yet completed a formal third-party audit against that standard, so we describe this as our target rather than a claim of full conformance. We would rather be accurate than reassuring.

What we have done

  • Skip links so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page structure.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alt text on decorative ones.
  • Visible focus states for keyboard navigation.
  • Form fields with associated labels, and status messages announced to screen readers.
  • Colour contrast checked against the WCAG AA thresholds.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following, and are working on them:

  • Embedded third-party forms. Some forms on this site are supplied by an external provider. We do not control their markup and cannot guarantee they meet WCAG AA.
  • Video content. Some background and promotional video does not yet have captions or audio description. Background video is decorative and carries no information that is not also available in text.
  • Third-party embeds. Social media feeds and similar embedded content are rendered by the provider and may not meet the same standard as the rest of the site.

Links that open in a new tab

A small number of links (our shop, and occasionally an announcement) open in a new browser tab. These are marked so that the change is not a surprise.

If you have difficulty using any part of this site, or you find something that is not accessible, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as bugs, not complaints.

Contact us through our contact page. We aim to respond within 5 working days, and we will tell you what we intend to do and when.

If you need information from this site in a different format, ask us and we will provide it.

How this statement is maintained

We review this statement whenever we make a significant change to the site, and at least once a year. The date at the top reflects the last review.
