The Best Places to Spot Supercars in Miami

October 15, 2022 Cars, Driving Routes, Miami

Los Angeles may see the most luxury car sales out of any other city in the United States, but if you consider the number of people who live in California vs. the state of Florida, one thing becomes quite clear. Florida is the supercar state if we’re talking about luxury cars per capita. If we had to choose the capital for supercars, it’d have to be Miami.

Miami is all about lavish living. The warm weather certainly helps, but supercar enthusiasts have chosen Miami as the place to be if you have (or want) an exotic car. Social media proof supports that theory. Search for hashtags like #lamborghini and #mclaren, and it won’t be long before you find someone in Miami who owns both.

If you want to treat Miami supercars as a spectator sport, we’ve put together a guide to the best places to spot supercars around the city. This guide also works for those who want to show off their own supercars in Miami.

Brickell Avenue

Brickell Avenue is Miami’s financial hub, known for its high rises, luxe hotels, and nightlife scene. It’s also one of the best places to go supercar spotting in downtown Miami. Hang out around the best hotels downtown for almost guaranteed sightings. The Kimpton EPIC Hotel just over the Miami River and the Four Seasons Hotel Miami further south are excellent options as you’re driving in Miami.

South Beach

Glamorous South Beach in Miami Beach is a place to see and be seen. It only makes sense that it’s one of the best places to hit if you’re wondering where to see exotic cars in Miami. Start on Ocean Drive, one of the main thoroughfares through town just north of South Pointe Park.

Cruise by the four-star hotels and pricey eateries like Prime 112 Restaurant at the historic Browns Hotel, an excellent place to start for both supercars and steaks. If you’re interested in architecture, you can check out the city’s Art Deco Historic District while you’re here.

Collins Avenue is another option if you’re here for the nightlife. Valets at legendary spots like LIV and STORY will likely be parking precisely the kinds of vehicles you’re here to see.

Wynwood

Miami’s trendy Wynwood neighborhood is home to colorful murals and warehouse-sized art galleries. If you know where to look, it’s also a popular spot for supercar enthusiasts. Seek out the neighborhood’s most exclusive eateries. COTE Miami and the Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill fit the bill.

The Deck at Island Gardens over the MacArthur Causeway is also worth the trip, especially if you want some yacht-spotting while you’re at it. Its outdoor lounge is on one of the city’s most exclusive marinas.

Supercar Rooms Miami

While in Wynwood, Supercar Rooms Miami is an event space open to visitors by appointment or during public events. Whether you’re visiting or already in Miami, look at their calendar for upcoming shows. The auto show curators run events like the popular Promenade Auto Wynwood open to the public. Their supercar gallery is also available for private parties if you’re planning a special occasion.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove, often known as The Grove, feels a little more laidback thanks to its proximity to the University of Miami and its many dive bars. Looking a little closer, you may notice the sailboat set that has also begun to frequent this area thanks to its growing food scene and boutique hotel market.

The chic and sophisticated Bellini restaurant in the Mr. C. Hotel is an excellent place to start. Nearby Dinner Key and the Regatta Harbour Marina are two more areas of The Grove popular with luxe sports car enthusiasts.

Bal Harbour

Bal Harbour, on the northern edge of Miami Beach, is known for upscale shopping, fine dining, and oceanfront resorts. The residents enjoy their tranquility and the fancier side of things, including luxury vehicles.

If you’re already in South Beach, continue north along Collins Avenue/Florida State Road A1A past Surfside for the neighborhood’s best shops, luxury apartment complexes, and four-star hotels. The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour along the northern coast of the village often makes for some good supercar spotting. At the very least, you’ll be close to ocean panoramas along the Bal Harbour Pier and Bal Harbour Lighthouse.

Cars and Coffee Miami

For a guaranteed sighting of Miami supercars, attend the monthly Cars and Coffee Miami in Doral. The informal gathering is open to any car enthusiast and any car, so expect a variety of makes and models when you visit. Supercars, race cars, and hot rods are typically well-represented at the event. The goal is for car enthusiasts to have a regular place to show off their cars and meet other supercar fans.
